What is Social Enterprise?
Kavita Chaturvedi: "A social enterprise is an organization that applies commercial strategies to maximize improvements in human and environmental well-being. This may include maximizing social impact alongside profits for external shareholders. Social enterprises can be structured as a for-profit or non-profit, and may take the form of a co-operative, mutual organization, a disregarded entity, a social business, a benefit corporation, a community interest company or a charity organization."
How I got into Social Enterprise?
Kavita Chaturvedi: "After graduating in Arts from Meerut University, I did Travel and Tourism Management from Delhi. I came to Dehradun after marriage and started working as an Event Manager in social cause events. It was in 2009 that I joined Janki Devi Educational Welfare Society as Secretary with a vision to remove plastic from the environment."
