What is Intelligence Services?
Ravi Mathur: "Intelligence services are carried out by government agencies that are responsible for the collection, analysis, and exploitation of information in support of law enforcement, national security, military, and foreign policy objectives. Means of information gathering are both overt and covert and may include espionage, communication interception, cryptanalysis, cooperation with other institutions, and evaluation of public sources."
How I got into Intelligence Services?
Ravi Mathur: "I graduated from Hindu College, Delhi University with a Bachelors and Masters degree in History. After clearing my civil services exam in 1978, I joined the Government of India as an Indian Revenue Service officer. I was recruited as a Special Secretary to the Cabinet Secretariat between 1987-93 and 1999-2014 during which time I served in the Intelligence Services."
