What is Social Development?
Sehjo Singh: "Social development refers to the process by which a child learns to interact with others around them. As they develop and perceive their own individuality within their community, they also gain skills to communicate with other people and process their actions."
How I got into Social Development?
Sehjo Singh: "After doing my schooling from St. Thomas Girls Senior Secondary School Delhi, I did BA & MA in Political Science from Delhi University and then did my MA in Mass communication from Jamia Milli Islamia. Since my college days I became active in social movements on Women's rights and secular democracy. I worked as an independent film maker for more than twenty years. The subject of my movies revolved around critical issues of land struggles and right to education, trying to find newer and different ways of connecting social movement and society. Thereafter, I worked for renowned organizations like National Centre of Advocacy Studies as an Executive Director and ActionAid India as Director Programmes and Policy for 9 years. I am working as a Mission Specialist for Industree Foundation and International Trade Centre, Ethiopia, Africa."
