Varun completed his Schooling from Raja Kesavadas N S S Higher Secondary School, Thiruvananthapuram followed by Hotel Management degree from Institute of Hotel Management & Catering Technology, Thiruvananthapuram. He started his career from Sarovar Hotels in Thiruvananthapuram, followed by Four Seasons Hotel in Mumbai and he was also Diageo Brand Ambassador. Since last 5 Months, he is working with Gourmet Investments Private limited as a Head of Innovation & Operation. Some of his biggest achievements were in 2009 when he was the regional winner of Bacardi Martini Grand Prix, Continuously for 2 years, he was Best Bartender India for Diageo World Class and represented India in world competitions . He has got certification from Wine & Spirit Education Trust of Level 2 Spirits.

Bartending Course / How I got into Bartending: "After completing my graduation in Hotel Management, I started working as a Bartender and have worked with brands like Sarovar, Four Seasons & Diageo. I have represented India on International platforms as I have won the Best Indian Bartender for Diageo World class for 2013 & 2014 and I was Diageo's Brand Ambassador for 1 year ."
