What is Special Education Training?Manju Singhania: "Special education is the practice of educating students with special educational needs in a way that addresses their individual differences and needs. Ideally, this process involves the individually planned and systematically monitored arrangement of teaching procedures, adapted equipment and materials, and accessible settings. These interventions are designed to help individuals with special needs achieve a higher level of personal self-sufficiency and success in school and in their community that may not be available if the student were only given access to a typical classroom education."
How I got into Special Education Training?Manju Singhania: "After doing my B Ed from Calcutta, I did my Post Graduate Diploma in special education. Post that I did many courses such as a program from the Hanen Canen Center in Canada to train primary school teachers and parents of young children. I also did a course on Narrative Therapy from Australia and a course on SPARK communication from Hanen Centre. I worked as a Director of Training and Development at Latika Roy Foundation for 22 years. In 2017, I opened my own centre by the name Joy of Learning for Special Education Training."
