Creative writing is any writing that expresses ideas, thoughts and emotions in an imaginative way. It is generally articulated in the most unique, inventive, and poetic way, instead of just presenting the facts. Creative writing displays imagination or invention, outside the bounds of normal professional, journalistic, academic, and technical forms of literature. The intent of creative writing is not to inform, but to elicit an emotional response from the readers using literary tropes, narrative craft and the various traditions of poetry and poetics.
How Editor & Content Developer Hanadi Falki got into Creative Writing?

The Journey of a Creative Writer: Hanari Phalke's Exploration of Storytelling and Cultural Narratives Creative writing is an art form that transcends mere words on a page; it weaves together the intricate threads of culture, emotion, and personal experience. Enter Hanari Phalke, an accomplished creative writer whose journey across various cultures has significantly shaped her narrative style. From her beginnings in Saudi Arabia to her scholarly pursuits in New Zealand, Hanari has delved deeply into the world of storytelling. This article will explore her path, the skills and education essential to her craft, the rewards and challenges she encounters, and a glimpse into an average day in her life as a writer. What Is Creative Writing? Creative writing is an expressive form of writing that encompasses various genres, including fiction, non-fiction, poetry, and scripts. It is an avenue for writers to channel their thoughts, experiences, and observations into narratives that resonate with readers. Hanari emphasizes that creative writing emerges from one's inner self; it is an act of observation and interpretation that aims to connect with the audience's imagination. Through different literary forms, writers can convey profound ideas, emotions, and stories that not only entertain but also reflect societal issues. Education Hanari's academic journey began with a Bachelor’s degree in English Literature, a foundational stone that strengthened her knowledge of classical and contemporary works. She believes that exposing oneself to diverse literary styles and histories enhances a writer’s ability to analyze different writing techniques. This background instills critical thinking and analytical skills that are invaluable in her creative writing career, allowing her to evaluate what resonates with readers. Pursuing a Master’s degree in Creative Writing at Auckland University of Technology provided Hanari with essential skills and practical knowledge. This academic training offered structured writing exercises, mentorship from experienced writers, and feedback that helped hone her craft. By learning about plot structures, character development, and maintaining a cohesive narrative, she was equipped with tools essential for creating compelling stories. Hanari also highlights the importance of linguistics in her writing journey. A strong understanding of grammar, syntax, and the history of language has enriched her vocabulary and improved her writing style. This expertise allows her to write more fluently and with precision. She believes that knowledge of linguistics reduces dependency on editors, empowering her to convey her ideas more effectively. Skills For Hanari, the essence of a compelling story lies in the minutiae observed in everyday life. Her ability to capture small, often overlooked details enables her to create vivid imagery and evoke strong emotions in her readers. The uniqueness of her perspective is cultivated through keen observation, whether it's the expressions on people's faces or the subtle dynamics in a bustling café. This skill serves as the backbone of her writing endeavors. Regular reading and consistent writing practice are crucial to Hanari's growth as a writer. She emphasizes that immersing oneself in a wide range of literature enriches one's understanding of various writing styles and techniques, informing their unique voice. Simultaneously, dedicating time to write every day fosters discipline and allows her creativity to flow freely. Effective communication is another skill that Hanari considers essential for a writer. The ability to articulate thoughts clearly, both in writing and through dialogue, is paramount in conveying stories to an audience. Through her various roles, from an editor to a scriptwriter, she has honed this skill, ensuring that her narratives are impactful and resonate with readers. The demanding nature of creative writing requires a strong sense of discipline and patience. Hanari stresses the importance of setting personal goals and adhering to a writing schedule. The path to becoming a published author is often fraught with delays and challenges, necessitating a steadfast commitment to the craft and a readiness to endure the ups and downs of the creative process. Lastly, Hanari recognizes the significance of creativity in her work. Each writer's creative process is distinct, and she encourages writers to discover what inspires them. Exploring different environments, experiencing new cultures, and engaging with diverse ideas fuels her creativity and enhances her storytelling abilities. Positives A major draw for Hanari in the realm of creative writing is the potential to make a social impact. Through her work, she addresses pressing issues that resonate deeply with her and her readers. She feels a deep sense of gratitude when her writing inspires others to strive for positive change, reinforcing her belief that literature can be a transformative force in society. The fulfillment that comes from successfully conveying her thoughts and ideas through writing is a significant aspect of Hanari's career. She derives immense satisfaction from knowing that her words have the power to evoke feelings of hope, empathy, and motivation among her readers. This sense of purpose reinforces her commitment to the craft. Hanari acknowledges that fame and recognition are inherent to any artistic pursuit. While the path can be long and arduous, the eventual acknowledgment of her work is profoundly rewarding. She emphasizes that true recognition stems from the art itself, not just from superficial accolades, and it’s important to maintain focus on creating meaningful literature. Creative writing also offers the flexibility that has been crucial for Hanari in balancing her personal and professional life. Working from home allows her to strike a harmonious balance between her writing career and family responsibilities, making it easier to pursue her passion without compromising her personal priorities. Challenges One of the primary challenges Hanari faces as a creative writer is the time-consuming nature of the writing process. She underscores that creating a quality manuscript often takes years of effort, from researching and drafting to revising and seeking publication. This lengthy timeline can be daunting but is essential for producing meaningful work. The financial aspect of being an author poses another hurdle. While some writers achieve quick success, many face financial instability as they navigate the competitive publishing landscape. Hanari advises aspiring writers to approach the field with realistic expectations regarding potential earnings and to explore various avenues to augment their income. Facing criticism is an unavoidable aspect of a writer’s journey. Hanari acknowledges that while feedback can be constructive, it can also be harsh and demoralizing. She encourages writers to view criticism as an opportunity for growth and to develop a thick skin against disparaging remarks, reminding them that everyone’s work will not always resonate positively with every reader. A Day Of Hanari begins her day early in the morning, usually around 6 AM, utilizing the quiet hours to brainstorm new ideas and write fresh content. The morning is when her creativity flourishes, and she dedicates this time to developing her narratives. After a few hours of writing, she transitions to other tasks throughout the day, maintaining a balance between her writing and other commitments. In the evening, she often revisits her morning's work, refining and editing her drafts to enhance their quality. This routine not only keeps her productive but also allows room for breaks and reflections, which she finds beneficial for her writing journey. In conclusion, Hanari Phalke's journey as a creative writer serves as an inspiring testament to the transformative power of storytelling. Through her experiences, she illustrates the importance of observation, continuous learning, and the courage to face challenges head-on. In a world where words can evoke change and inspire action, creative writers like Hanari hold a significant place in our society. As she continues to enrich the literary landscape, her insights resonate deeply with aspiring writers and seasoned authors alike, showing that passion, hard work, and authenticity are the keys to a rewarding writing career. | |

Writing is a medium of human communication that represents language with signs and symbols. Writing, in other words, is not a language, but a tool used to make languages readable. Within a language system, writing relies on many of the same structures as speech, such as vocabulary, grammar, and semantics, with the added dependency of a system of signs or symbols. The writing context requires writers to have a sense of the reader's expectations and an awareness of conventions for a particular piece of writing. The context of the piece further determines the appropriate tone, level of vocabulary, kind and placement of evidence, genre, and sometimes even punctuation. In order to communicate effectively, we need to order our words and ideas on the page in ways that make sense to a reader.
