After doing my BTech from IIT, Bomaby in Materials and Metallurgical Engineering, I went to New Jersey for my PhD and there I did my research and as well as taught for 13 years. After that I came back to India in 1981 and created a report in Centre for Science and Environment, Delhi with one of my friend, called as the State of India's Environment- A Citizen's Report. The report got a lot of recognition in whole world. I worked for some years for the environment issues. In 1987-88 I established the People's Science Institue in Dehradun with my few friends and started working for society.
